Who are we?
Eryri DX is a very different sort of amateur radio group located in Rhos-on-Sea in North Wales. We seek to build on the very best of the hobby and be active in operating together; running Special Event Stations, promoting amateur radio and, above all, having fun and enjoying the hobby socially together. We are very informal with no hierarchy or politics of any sort, which are most definitely not allowed! We support one another, any amateur or prospective radio amateur or radio amateur club as much as we can.
Our mission statement:
To provide a friendly and informal social arena to enjoy the hobby of amateur radio
To encourage and support education and technical proficiency
To support each other and amateurs/potential amateurs / amateur radio clubs outside the group.
To make regular operation of amateur radio together our priory
To promote all aspects of amateur radio and electronics in a positive way.
We meet at the Northwood Hotel in Rhos on Sea every other Monday evening between 7pm and 9pm. (See our calendar page).
On some occasions in the kinder weather we will have our group night up in the hills somewhere, but we will always give full details on our Facebook page and elsewhere on this website. We have talks by invited guests or by Eryri DX members, regular on-air evenings, field trips and special event stations.
We welcome visitors – radio amateurs, prospective radio amateurs and the simply curious.
